About

David Goncalves Rivera is a designer born in London, UK, with family roots lying in Bolivia and Portugal. First studying a foundation course at Camberwell College of Arts, he went on to study 3D Design at the same college developing his learning and creativity. David specialises in furniture designing but likes to venture into other avenues of design like product & industrial design, and likes to dabble from time to time in graphic design.

With influences from designers like Alvar Aalto and Charles & Ray Eames, David likes to work with natural materials like wood to create simple design that engages the user on a physical and emotional level. His mind doesn't seem to stop as he is constantly fixated on how everyday objects can be improved for better living and how design can have a impact on the world for a better and prosperios future.

David is also one third of the design studio YSD; a studio started by 3 university colleagues Jialu Yuan, Smriti Jain, and David Goncalves Rivera.
